As part of EU Green Week, OFFIS hosted an official partner event on June 16, 2025, where they presented the practical research results of the EU project CIRC-UITS (Circ-Uits Project) to a broad audience. The project promotes a sustainable circular economy in the electronics industry through the reuse and redesign of components. 🔄♻️
Led by Dr. Alexandra Pehlken and in cooperation with BeSu.Solutions GmbH, they invited young people with little prior knowledge of computer science to OFFIS to spark their interest in the circular economy and resource conservation in an entertaining and informative way. 👩🔬🎓
The interactive program gave participants the opportunity to try out various serious games. These educational games conveyed knowledge playfully and actively encouraged independent thinking. 🎮🧠
Their goal was to raise awareness about the sustainable use of resources and to demonstrate how crucial these issues are for the future of society. The lively participation and great interest motivated them to expand this format further. That is why they are already planning additional events directly in schools to reach even more young people. 🌍
They are convinced that the sustainable development of the environment largely depends on the knowledge and commitment of the next generation. 💪💚
