đ Edinburgh, June 3â4 | EIPC Summer Conference 2025
We were proud to see Chris Klok from MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions , one of our valued CIRCUITS consortium partners, present our project during the opening session on Sustainability and Recycling at this yearâs EIPC Summer Conference. The European Institute for the PCB Community- EIPC Services BVđ§Š
đŻ Chris showcased the progress of our four pilot projects, already delivering real impact:
âď¸ Eco-designed electronic control units
âď¸ Next-gen tire pressure sensors
âď¸ Sustainable embedded circuits
âď¸ AI-driven sorting and reuse of obsolete PCBs
đ He also highlighted how material innovation plays a key role in enabling circularelectronics â from using low-temperature solder alloys âĄ, to exploring carbon-based metallization as a sustainable alternative to copper, and testing functional inks for in-mold electronics.
đ Our mission? To reduce Europeâs dependence on non-EU suppliers, lower the environmental footprint of electronics manufacturing, and promote a future-ready model based on repair, reuse, and recycling. đ
đŁď¸ Itâs time to rethink how electronics are made, and unmade.
Whatâs the biggest challenge to circular electronics in your industry?
